Read Alouds
Grade level K
Take time to read to your child everyday. Choose from the books below, books that are easy for your K2 child to “read.”
The Little Red Hen
It’s Too Noisy
The Three Little Pigs
Ten in a Bed
Over in the Meadow
The Farmer in the Dell
The Enormous Turnip
The Wheels on the Bus
The House that Jack Built
The Mitten
Little White Duck
Moo Moo, Brown Cow
Mrs. Wishy-Washy
Happy Birthday Moon
Gingerbread Baby
The Runaway Bunny
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Jesse Bear, What Will You Wear?
Are You My Mother?
Is Your Mama a Llama?
The Doorbell Rang
Rosie’s Walk
Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?
The Cow that Went Oink
The Little Engine That Could
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt
It Looked Like Spilt Milk
Rain
Have You Seen My Duckling?
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Reading to your child means that they will take time to read. Kindergarteners reading success can be:
Reading pictures
Memorized reading
Reading sounds
Reading pictures that they drew, and
Reading lines, letters, sounds that they wrote.
Send a book, picture, or something they wrote to school. I would love to hear what they can read. We can even have the class listen to them. Reading is contagious. Once someone reads a great story, others want to do that too.

Your child can buy food for the animals in the petting zoo. Please make sure that they have a zippered pocket to carry their own money. Be sure it is a reasonable amount of quarters that will not uncomfortably weigh them down. Send ONLY QUARTERS no cash or checks.
Thanks!
If you are attending as a chaperone, you will be responsible for the food for your group. A rolling cooler or something similar will assist you in transporting food into the park. We have reserved the Picnic Area for our group. This will allow each group to eat when they are hungry rather than trying to meet up as a large group.
We are scheduled to be at Happy Hollow all day. We will be there before it opens at 10 and return close to 3 PM.
1. Wear the Apostles shirt or a yellow t-shirt.
2. Dress for the weather.
3. Apply sunscreen before the children arrive at school. Pack snack in a separate brown paper bag.
